C -1998, Susan Clayton

Today your heart is heavy
From a loss that cuts too deep.
Tears flow freely,
Grief dominates your sleep.

I know the sorrow that burns, now
Like a cinder in your soul;
I know your heart feels shattered
As if you'll never again be whole.

The world marches onward,
While your life stands still --
How can you take another step?
But I tell you, you can. You will.

Slowly, time can ease the aching depths.
Each day begins anew.
Hold strong to Faith and love,
Cling to the Spirit within You.

Take the time to feel the pain,
Let memories balm your soul;
Trust that God's love will see you through,
His grace will again make you whole.

In the shadows of the sunrise,
At the breaking of the Dawn
You'll awaken to the Morning
And know it's time to move on

Toward a better tomorrow
Where the future is bright, and still
You'll shed the bondage of sorrow
Your heart will heal. It will, it will

For nothing lasts forever;
Not ever on this earth.
All is like a circle;
Endlessly repeating, death to birth.

And in this life take comfort;
For though the loss is bitter and deep
A better life awaits them -
They are there now, even as we weep.

For God has infinite wisdom
And purpose beyond today
Hold tight to that knowledge,
Let His Truth light the way.
